When choosing a dinner date ā€“ a good sense of humour is a valued commodity.

That's the finding of an informal Herald online survey which asked readers to name the living actor and actress they would most like to have dinner with.

Although Hollywood star Brad Pitt was a clear winner, unexpected names the top six men included Billy Connolly, Ricky Gervais and William Shatner.

Angelina Jolie, Pitt's partner, was the most popular actress to dine with, followed surprisingly by Drew Barrymore. Both male and female readers suggested her bubbly personality would make her an ideal dinner companion.

WTF?? When has this bitch ever been bubbly when it wasn't drug induced? How much money does this bitch spend in 1 week for PR Spin? And who actually believes this crap?

The top six actors were; Brad Pitt, Johnny Depp, William Shatner, Billy Connolly, Will Smith and Ricky Gervais.

The top six actresses were; Angelina Jolie, Drew Barrymore, Jennifer Aniston, Charlize Theron, Uma Thurman and Sandra Bullock.

The only stipulations in the survey were that readers could only nominate one living actor and an actress for the fictional dinner date.
